Widmer Brothers Hefe Becomes The Official Beer Of Portland Timbers Soccer

We brought you a peek at this beer back in Dec, and now this from Widmer Brothers:

On March 5th, Widmer Brothers formally announced that Widmer Hefeweizen will now be the Official Craft Beer of the Portland Timbers MLS team, making this the largest co-branded
product launch between a craft brewery and MLS team.

Widmer has partnered with the Portland Timbers for more than 15 years and last night they announced a 4-year extension of their sponsorship.

“My brother Kurt and I, as well as many of our brewers and other members of our team, are longtime fans of the Portland Timbers,” said Rob Widmer, co-founder of Widmer Brothers Brewing. “We are excited to continue our partnership and bring together two Portland originals for beer drinkers and soccer fans in Oregon with the Timbers and Hefe co-branded package. The Timbers are a great Portland institution, and we’re happy to continue our support and association with the team.”

The new packaging will appear on 6 and 12 packs in Oregon through the remainder of the MLS season.
