Lincoln, NH March 27, 2015
The 11th Annual New England Brewfest, produced by the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, will be moving to Loon Mountain Resort to host the “ultimate craft beer weekend” in the White Mountains. After outgrowing its space in North Woodstock, NH and most recently at the Lincoln Village Shops on Main Street in Lincoln, NH, organizers have decided that a new venue for Saturday Night: ON TAP, the signature social and tasting event of the weekend, would be a welcome change for the nearly 4000 attendees that have loyally been to the New England Brewfest for the past 10 years.
“Moving to Loon is just one of the many changes to our Brewfest weekend this year” notes Executive Producer, Alyssa Yolda. “Last year we expanded from a single tasting and social event to a full-on weekend of craft beer fun. The response was tremendous. This year, we are partnering with the Life Is Good Playmakers to raise money for their foundation, all while attendees enjoy a weekend filled with educational and social events celebrating all that we love about craft beer.”
Dubbed the “Ultimate Craft Beer Weekend”, the New England Brewfest is a 3-day immersion in the growing craft beer culture. The event weekend starts on Friday, June 26th with a bus tour of Northern NH’s micro-breweries and finishes the day with a train tour of food and beer, aboard the Café Lafayette Dinner Train. Saturday, June 27th is marked by an educational series focusing on the beer craft and giving attendees an academic edge to their pallets. Saturday Night: ON TAP is the big social beer tasting party at Loon Mountain Resort. With over 30 breweries, 100 craft beer varieties, 20 beer-a-phanalia vendors, 3 regional bands, 4000 attendees in an idyllic setting in the White Mountains, it is no wonder that this event has grown to anchor the summer festivities in what is becoming known as the BaseCamp of the White Mountains. Sunday, the New Hampshire craft beer documentary, “Brew NH” will premiere at the famed Jeans Playhouse in Lincoln to wrap up the weekend.
We’re also thrilled to announce that the Life Is Good Playmakers will be the event’s official charity partner. As the non-profit side of the Life is good Company, The Playmakers work to spread the power of optimism by helping children overcome toxic stress and trauma. They offer comprehensive support to frontline professionals - such as teachers, social workers and child life specialists - who devote their careers to making life-changing relationships with children growing up amidst poverty, violence, and illness.
“The Playmakers are thrilled to work with the Lincoln-Woodstock community” stated Rich Cremin, owner of Life Is Good, the New England based apparel company with a social mission to help you feel and do good. “Raising money for our foundation while we drink local beer is a no brainer, a win-win all around.”
Although the name of the weekend implies a ‘perfect getaway for couples or adult friends’, it’s also a family affair. Throughout the weekend, kids’ activities are planned around the region to entertain the little ones. Friday, June 26th, the Whales Tale Waterpark in Lincoln, NH is also partnering with the Life Is Good Playmakers to raise money at the Life Is Good Summer Kickoff at Whales Tale Waterpark . At Brewfest HQ, the Loon Mountain Resort staff and the Playmakers will be entertaining our young ones, adding to the family festivities.
All across the region, other fundraising opportunities for the Playmakers Foundation are cropping up. As information is gathered, it is communicated on the New England Brewfest Website, http://www.nebrewfest.com and Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/nebrewfest. Fundraising commences with the ticket sales launch on March 30th.
