This Saturday is our Hammerhead Release Celebration, and this year's will be the biggest yet. 2015 Hammerhead, 2 new Hammerhead variants, Barrel Roll Club pickup, a new Hangar 24 / Augie's Collab Coffee, Augie's onsite pouring, two live bands, bacon-infused food... yeah, it's going to be huge.
We'll be open at 11am to release bottles of 2015 Hammerhead for $20, and we'll have ultra-limited bottles of Augie's Coffee Hammerhead and Bourbon Chai Hammerhead for $25. We expect both special releases to sell out within an hour.
On draught we'll have all of the above, plus an "Old Fashioned" Hammerhead running through our Randall, and Augie's Coffee House will be here starting at 10am pouring the same Guatemalan Duraznal coffee that we used in Augie's Hammerhead.
We'll also be selling a VERY LIMITED number of Augie's Coffee barrel-aged "Hammerhead Guatemalan Duraznal" coffee beans. These beans were aged in two of our freshly-emptied Hammerhead barrels, soaking up all the beer and whiskey goodness, before being roasted and packaged. Bags will be $22.
Barrel Roll Club Members will be able to pick up their quarter 2 box, and purchase pours of both club-exclusive Pugachev Mocha and Bleu Blanc- perfect if you plan on saving your bottles for a special occasion.
Music-wise we'll have Strangebrew Band here from 12-3pm to get things started, followed by special guest headliners The Dares from 8-10pm.
To keep you nourished amidst so much awesomeness we've enlisted the help of BACON MANia, who will be in the house from 12-8pm with bacon on bacon entrees and sides.
Phew. That's a lot of beer, food, music, coffee, and everything in between. We're going to need your help enjoying it all on Saturday.
Hangar 24 Craft Brewery will celebrate one of their biggest days of the year this Saturday- the annual release of their Hammerhead Barleywine. To make this year's event even bigger, the brewery is excited to announce two new collaborations with Redlands' own Augie's Coffee.
The Beer - Augie's Coffee Hammerhead
A special version of Hangar 24 Craft Brewery's Hammerhead Barleywine which was aged in bourbon barrels with Augie's Guatemalan Duraznal coffee beans. Bottles will be available for $25 and only a few hundred will be available for public sale this Saturday.
The Coffee - "Hammerhead" Guatemalan Duraznal
After removing Hammerhead from its barrels, Hangar 24 delivered two of the beer-soaked barrels to Augie's, and in went unroasted green coffee beans- the same used in Augie's Coffee Hammerhead. After soaking up all the flavors of the barrel, the beans were roasted and packaged. This barrel-aged coffee exhibits all the complexity of the base bean, infused with the deep whisky and caramel notes of Hangar 24's Hammerhead Barleywine. Only 100 bags of these Hammerhead Guatemalan Duraznal Coffee Beans were produced, and will be sold for $22 each.
Both products will go on sale at Hangar 24's Hammerhead Release Celebration this Saturday. Doors open at 11am but bottle sales and Augie's Coffee pours begin at 10am. Both special releases are expected to sell out very rapidly, so coffee and craft beer fans should come early.
