From Half Acre:
We’ve spent the last year building a new brewery just up the road from our facility on Lincoln Ave. We're now transitioning and soon we will offer up a deeper explanation of what you can expect from our brewery.
One coming (hopefully temporary) change is our ability to sell you cans of beer in our store. While we’ve been selling cans all these years, we will no longer be canning beer on Lincoln Ave. Today, the law in Illinois only allows us to sell beer in our store that was brewed and packaged on site. Also, in an effort to maintain the inventory and variety you deserve, we're suspending keg sales in our store for the time being. We are working with lawmakers and hope that the stars will realign.
In celebration of the new brewery and to memorialize our inability to sell you cans, we’re putting together a series of bomber beers. The Sprawler series will only be sold in our store, quantities small and we’ll fire them off quickly.
Having two production breweries in Chicago is new ground. We’re taking all that comes and coordinating our brewing company into two tactical beasts — let us tame them into creative servants.
The first release will be Get Right, a Kolsch from our archives. This cover of a German mainstay should set the pace for a new tomorrow.
