Cape May, NJ – Cape May Brewing Company may be in the midst of a major expansion — their new 30-barrel brew house ships this week, and will be fully up and running in their new 15,000-square foot space at the Cape May Airport this spring — but this hasn’t slowed the brewing schedule at all.
As the fifth in a six-new-beers-in-six-weeks series, Cape May Brewing Company will release its Take Five Session IPA on Thursday, March 19th.
“I cannot wait for it,” says Brew Master Brian Hink. “As a session beer, it’s low in alcohol, only about four percent, but super hoppy. It’s the kind you down in two sips before thinking: ‘Where’d my beer go?’ It’s just that drinkable.”
A recent article in Outside magazine confirms it: session beers like the fruit-forward Take Five are having “a moment” because they have all of the flavor of brews with higher ABVs, but won’t leave you feeling foggy in the morning. It’s the reason they’re a popular choice among athletes who need to hit the gym after a night out. And a popular choice among non-athletes who’d rather “day-drink their faces off,” says Brian.
Whichever camp you fall into, you’re welcome at Cape May Brewing Company’s tasting room (1288 Hornet Road, Rio Grande), open from noon to 8pm everyday. For more information on tours and tastings, call 609-849-9933.
