Maynard, MA; March 11, 2015 – In a surprising twist to plans announced at a selectmen's meeting in January, Whole House Group has announced it has signed an LOI to build the Battle Road Brewery and Brew Pub in Maynard’s historic Clock Tower Mill.
The Battle Road Brewery and Brew Pub will be located in Building 5 of what Maynard residents affectionately call “the Mill.” With a Fall 2015 opening date, the exciting construction of Battle Road includes a state-of-the-art 30 barrel brewery, seating for 50-75 people inside the brew pub, as well as a traditional outdoor beer garden overlooking Mill Pond.
Whole House Group Managing Partner Greg Hill says, "To me, the Mill was the ideal location for Battle Road Brewery & Brew Pub all along. The brick and post & beam architecture lends itself to creating a beautiful brew pub, which will be built around our new 30 barrel brewery featuring the best equipment available to brew Battle Road’s signature brews like 1775 Tavern Ale, Barrett’s Farmhouse Ale, Lexington Green East IPA, and Midnight Rider Porter – as well as some new brews that master brewers Jeremy Cross and Scott Houghton have in store. As soon as the Mill’s new ownership came on board, they made the Battle Road Brewery and Brew Pub a priority, and we were able to get a deal done in days. We couldn't be more excited about brewing our beer, and serving it, in Maynard for years to come."
"Maynard is very excited to bring Battle Road Brewery and Brew Pub to town," said Maynard Town Administrator Kevin Sweet. "Their state-of-the-art facility and outdoor beer garden will entertain residents and draw out-of-town visitors to see all that our town has to offer! I could not think of a better spot than our iconic Clock Tower Mill for this new business and restaurant to call home."
In recent months, Battle Road Brewing Company has undertaken a massive relaunch with local management company Whole House Group of Sudbury. With a vision to bring the beloved Battle Road beers to a larger audience, Whole House Group partnered with full-service advertising agency Mittcom to rebrand Battle Road (logo, website, can & truck design) and M.S. Walker to distribute Battle Road in both draft and can format in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as early as this spring.
