SCRATCH #171 RELEASED TODAY! At Tröegs, we’re no stranger to the Amber Ale style. Typically regarded as a “catch all” style that explores one end of the spectrum (sweet, malt and toasty) to the other (floral, bright, hoppy), we’ve certainly carved out a niche with two popular offerings – our year-round HopBack Amber and fan favorite Nugget Nectar. For this particular Scratch Beer, we’ve revisited an experimental hop variety known as “06277” aka “Nuggetzilla,” which we’ve used heavily in the dry-hopping process to elicit bold notes of citrus and pine as well as gentle key lime and strawberry. The addition of CaraRed in the malt bill produces a full, rich texture and lovely reddish hue. The result is a full-flavored Amber Ale that stands on its own… although it is definitely among good company! ABV is 5.6% and IBU is 57. Availability: draft and growler fills only.
