BrewDog - Prototype Challenge 2014 Labels

Here’s a peek coming from BrewDog at their 2014 Prototype Challenge Beer labels.  As far as I know there are no plans to bring these to the U.S. other than in my checked luggage.

From BrewDog:

Prototype Series 2014

As we thunder towards the end of another amazing year, there’s still the small matter of our annual Prototype Challenge to deal with. Every winter we brew up some brand new beers, and we want you to let us know which one deserves a place in our Headliner range. This year sees us turn things a little technical and try something different. Mashing in right now, and in no particular order, are:

VAGABOND PALE ALE

Those who aren’t too fond of gluten, rejoice – Vagabond is our first gluten-free brew, and will smash any preconceptions that the malt and hop flavours will be any less than awesome. Brewed with citrusy Centennial and Amarillo, Vagabond is a kick-ass, gluten-free brew.

HOP FICTION

An epic experiment into unusual hopping techniques, Hop Fiction is a brewhouse-only IPA, where we’ve used first wort hopping and a huge amount of whirlpool hopping to make a bold 6.5% ABV US style IPA with Amarillo, Chinook and Mosaic for an avalanche of flavour and aroma.

ALL DAY LONG

For those glorious days when the time slips by and you barely realise it, you need an easy-drinking brew that’ll still keep you interested. All Day Long is brewed with a plethora of speciality malts, including Cara, Cara Red, Munich, Crystal, Dark Crystal and rye, and hopped with Columbus, Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo.

ALT AMBER

Alt Amber is a toasty, malty 5.3% ABV Northern German style altbier (which translates as old beer; a reference to the age of the style, not the beer itself). Alts predate lagers but share their malt-forward characteristics, and are cold-conditioned to give a clean smooth flavour.

Once released, it’s down to you which one we see returning as a regular brew. Previous winners include Jack Hammer, Cocoa Psycho, Brixton Porter and Dead Pony -  so no pressure then… You’ll be able to write your tasting notes on the labels, make your decision, and let us know which Prototype has got what it takes to go the distance, Rocky style.

And there we have it – your round-up is complete. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Online Shop for these upcoming brews, and let us know what you want to see next!
