Summit Brewing Wins Bronze Medal at 2014 Great American Beer Festival

ST. PAUL, Minn. – (October 6, 2014) – Summit Brewing Company is pleased to announce it was one of six Minnesota breweries awarded with a medal at this past weekend’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF) beer competition.  Summit won a bronze medal in the Classic English-Style Pale Ale category for its flagship beer, Extra Pale Ale. Extra Pale Ale is brewed with caramel and biscuit malts superbly balanced with an earthy hop bite and juicy citrus. Extra Pale Ale also won a silver medal in the Classic English-Style Pale Ale at the 2014 World Beer Cup®.

This is Summit’s ninth GABF medal since the brewery was founded in 1986.

Pilsener: 2012, Silver, Bohemian-Style Pilsner

True Brit IPA: 2013, Silver, Extra Special Bitter



The 2014 Great American Beer Festival competition awarded 268 medals to some of the best commercial breweries in the United States.  Presented by the Brewers Association, GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world and a symbol of brewing excellence.
