CHICAGO, Sept. 4, 2014 With summer in full swing, Silver City Brewery has the perfect brew to keep the party going. Ziggy Zoggy Summer Lager has become the brewery's first offering in aluminum with its launch in 12 oz. cans from Rexam.

Brewed in the tradition of German style "Zwickelbier," Ziggy Zoggy is an unfiltered lager that balances a crisp and elegant honey-like malt flavor with assertive, classic German hop character.

"When we decided we wanted to expand our reach and provide one of our offerings in 12 oz. cans, Ziggy Zoggy was the natural choice," said Scott Houmes, owner, Silver City Brewery. "Cans are the ultimate package for craft beer. Whether you're barbequing with friends, boating, camping or spending time at the beach, thanks to our partnership with Rexam, Ziggy Zoggy can now be your go-to craft beer in 12 oz. cans."

Silver City Brewery chose to expand into aluminum cans for their many benefits. Cans provide complete protection from light and oxygen, preserving beer's freshness. They are durable and portable, often permitted at outdoor venues that don't allow glass. Cans are also the most sustainable beverage package in the world, recycled at more than double the rate of any other option.

Rich Grimley, president and CEO, Rexam BCNA, commented on Silver City's expansion into cans. "Our cans are the perfect packaging choice delivering the best in colorful, reflective graphics that stand out on store shelves while safeguarding beverage integrity and providing superior recycling, filling, distribution and retail display economics."

Ziggy Zoggy summer lager in cans is available at select retail locations across Western Washington.
