From MLive:
Then, just 11 days later, Aaron's father, Bill "Wacky" Morse, died at age 68.
Bill Morse was co-owner of the brewing company and was instrumental in getting it up and running more than a decade ago on the property where his longtime party store, Wacky Willy's, once stood.
Aaron Morse wrote a touching tribute to his father, which he posted on the Dark Horse Facebook page over the weekend:
"I've sat in front of this post screen for two days now trying to figure out, what to say, how to say thanks to so many people, how to give tribute to my Father, but really, I think it's pretty simple. We have the best damn family, friends and supporters a family and business could ask for....we have the Dark Horse Nation. And as for a tribute to my father..... he was a tribute! He touch a lot of people's hearts in different ways. Throughout the years he was like a father not only to just me and my brother, but to countless friends and employees. He was a person that if you meant him once, you never forgot him. ... He taught me more things about life then he will never know, he taught me to be a business man, to give to others when you may have a little more, importance of family, and one of the biggest things -that nothing in life comes for free, to work hard for the things you want. He was by far one of the hardest workers I've ever known and he deserved everything he got throughout his life and more. For all of this and countless other reasons I am proud and privileged to call him my father. ... The whole Morse and Boley families would like to Thank each and every one of our family, friends and supports through these Dark days, but as my father taught me, we will come out the other side working even harder than before, continuing to make kick-ass beer, finish all the projects we have planned and making Dark Horse Brewing Company one of the coolest places on earth and for that I thank him, but also our supporters because without you, Dark Horse would not be what it is today.
"I love you Dad and I will miss you immensely-
"Bill "Wacky" "Pappy" Morse Rest in Peace. - Aaron."
