The Pottsville, Pa.-based brewer had planned to roll out its brands simultaneously in Rhode Island and Connecticut in June, but ended up focusing only on Rhode Island to reach the summer vacationer market, said Rod Stack, vice president of sales at Manchester-based Hartford Distributors. HDI will distribute Yuengling to retailers, restaurants and bars in Hartford, Tolland and Middlesex counties.

Four wholesalers have been selected to distribute the brands throughout Connecticut. Yuengling welcomes into their existing network; Levine Distributing Co. Inc., for the counties of Windham and New London, A. Gallo & Company, for the county of Litchfield, Star Distributors, Inc., for the counties of New Haven and Fairfield along with the town of Durham in Middlesex and Hartford Distributors, Inc. who will distribute in the counties of Hartford, Tolland and Middlesex.

The initial rollout, targeted for late September and early October, will include Yuengling’s flagship beer, Traditional Lager as well as its award winning Yuengling Light Lager and Black & Tan brands.

“We are proud to partner with America’s Oldest Brewery; a family owned and operated business. It’s exciting to bring Yuengling back to consumers in the State of Connecticut,” said Tony Gallo, President of A. Gallo & Company and Star Distributors Inc. “Now residents don’t have to go out of state to purchase quality craft beer at domestic pricing; they can enjoy it here in their favorite bar, restaurant and package store.”
