From Alaskan Brewing:

JUNEAU, Alaska – Alaskan Brewing Company recently hosted the Brew Dogs in Juneau, where they collaborated on a beer that would allow them to survive in the rugged wilderness. The episode will premier this Wednesday, August 13 on the Esquire Network at 9pm eastern time, and at 8pm throughout Alaska. Check local listings for times in your area.

Brew Dogs is in its second successful season on the Esquire Network. James Watt and Martin Dickie, owners of the UK’s fastest-growing brewery, Brew Dog, travel across America visiting different American beer towns, celebrating distinctive craft beers and creating their own locally-inspired drafts.

After cutting themselves off from civilization in the Alaskan wilderness, James and Martin team up with the Alaskan Brewing Company to create a survivalist beer. Using only local ingredients with some simple camping supplies, and a few scavenged float plane parts, they work with Alaskan Brewer Steve Sano to create a beer based on the ancient style of a Kvass. They collected glacial ice from an ice cave that has since collapsed, and worked with a local naturalist to find other unique ingredients.

Brew Dogs also visited other brewers and bars in Alaska on their trip north, and it will all be seen during the premier show. To celebrate, Alaskan is helping to host viewing parties at some of the locations featured in the program, including the Hangar in Juneau and the Café Amsterdam in Anchorage, where a version of the Survival Beer brewed back at the Alaskan Brewery will be poured.
