Satur said 24 people, a combination of employees and patrons, were exposed. Eight employees were deemed critical exposure and were taken to Longmont United Hospital. Nine employees with less serious exposure were taken to Good Sam Hospital in Lafayette. Seven other people were decontaminated at the scene. No patrons were hospitalized.
“All are being treated for respiratory complaints,” Satur said in a prepared statement.
Symptoms that were observed included vomiting, nausea and headaches.
Initially hazmat investigators believed the people were exposed to a refrigerant leak, but that has since been ruled out and the cause still hasn’t been discovered.
The restaurant will be closed until the source can located and repaired.
