West Sixth Announces Country Western Volume 2 Cans: The Official Beer of Lexington Craft Beer Week

From West Sixth:

Today, we’re excited to announce our second annual partnership with our friends at Country Boy Brewing, a collaboration ale we’re calling “Country Western Volume 2″.

We made a beer together last year for Lexington Craft Beer Week, but this year, we’re taking it to a new level by not only having the beer available on draft, but also in special, limited release cans!

This year, Country Western Volume 2 is a bit different — it’s a celebration of Kentucky!  The style is a brown ale made with Kentucky sorghum and then aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels to kick it up a notch!

Country Western Volume 2 was brewed a couple months ago and has been aging in bourbon barrels since that time.  It will be canned next week and available on draft at both breweries on May 9th at noon, and then in cans at both breweries on May 15th at 5pm.

The beer is packed with Kentucky spirit and flavor. Roasted and malty notes from this brown ale pair seamlessly with the teasing bourbon aroma, and subtle oak notes. The sticky sweetness comes through from the Townsend Sorghum. Aged in bourbon barrels for 2 months, this collaboration beer is a little country, a little western, and a whole lotta fun.

We couldn’t be  more excited to be doing this with our friends down the street.  Hope you’ll come out to both of our places for Lexington Craft Beer Week and give it a try!
