VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA Parallel 49 Brewing Company has introduced a new brew to its line-up of nitrogenated craft brews. The ESB (Extra Special Bitter) Nitrogenated Series provides beer enthusiasts with a silky smooth, old English style craft brew without the use of a traditional widget. The beer is carbonated with nitrogen rather than carbon dioxide, making it another first of its kind from a Canadian craft brewery.
The ESB N2 Series is modeled after the cask beers of the old English Taverns with a traditional malt body and a dose of Pacific Northwest hops that add a firm bitterness and a juicy orange hop flavor. Parallel 49 utilizes a special method to successfully contain the velvety smooth texture and distinctive foam head one would expect from a Nitrogenated beer on tap. By forgoing the widget commonly placed in more traditionally bottled Nitrogenated beer, the series offers craft beer lovers a new way to experience the brews.
"We're really excited about our ESB Nitrogenated beer because of its unique taste which also allows craft beer fans a new way to experience and appreciate beer," said Graham With, head brewmaster at Parallel 49, "The ESB N2 Series pays homage to the cask beers of the old English Taverns. This is a style that is becoming quite popular within the beer industry."
