Port City Ways & Means Coming In April

From Port City Brewing:

Port City Brewing Co will be releasing their Ways & Means American Style Bitter On April 4th.

This will be a limited release of a single 90-barrel batch, available on draft only in bars and restaurants around the Metropolitan DC area. Port City Brewing Company will release the new beer in its Tasting Room on April 4th. The general market release date will be April 7th.

Crafted specifically for the return of spring, Ways & Means will be a full bodied ASB. It will be complex and hoppy with a spicy, peppery character, which comes from a generous addition of rye malt. This golden-amber ale is also remarkably low in alcohol, at only 4.5%, making it extremely crisp and thirst-quenching for the transition of spring into the summer season. This ASB will have pleasant bitterness, with 55 International Bitterness Units (IBU), making it smooth and refreshing.

Ways & Means will be brewed with a blend of specialty malts and rye, including North American Pilsner malt, Rye malt, Golden Naked Oats and Crystal malt. It will also contain both Liberty and Centennial hops. The combinations make for a luscious malty and hoppy aroma. Ways & Means finishes with the typical clean and refreshing character for which Port City’s beers are known, and it is bound to be an overall crowd-pleaser.

Port City Brewing Company is dedicated to bringing great quality, innovative, handmade craft beers to the DC and Mid-Atlantic market. The 11,000-square-foot craft brewery produces world-class quality beer, brewing five year-round beers along with rotating seasonal selections.
