From Sun King:

Sun King will be releasing Fistful of Hops IPA on January 6th in cans.  This is the second in the Fistful of Hops seasonal series, which was newly added to Sun King year-round lineup this Fall.  Our Winter release or the Blue version contains Centennial hops and Chinook hops.  Fistful of Hops comes in at 7.5% ABV and 70 IBUs. (There are kegs of Fistful of Hops - Red Version available for purchase in the Tasting Room.)

• More cans!  Sun King will also be releasing Cowbell Porter this month on January 13th.  This is the first time that SKB will be releasing Cowbell in cans.  You will be able to purchase this delicious porter with a hint of chocolate in draft as well.

• Have you ever wondered what the numbers on the bottom of Sun King cans mean?  Sun King currently employs the Julian Date Method. On the bottom of each can, there is a 5 digit code for the date.  The first two numbers indicate the year followed by three more numbers which indicates the number of days into the year that it was canned.  The example below shows 13 for the year followed by 055 for the day packaged.  This translates to Feb. 24th, 2013.  We want you, the customer, to have the most consistent flavor profile and freshest beer each time you drink Sun King - our beer tastes best within 90 days of the bottom of the can.  So the next time you enjoy Fresh•Local•Beer, check out the bottom of your can and see when it was brewed!
