From Strangeways Brewing:
Richmond, VA, December 12, 2013/mbb/ - Local burlesque troupe Those Freaking Weirdos and craft brewery Strangeways Brewing announce their Brews & Burlesque shows will now be a regular feature on the second Friday of every month. These shows are unique in both the burlesque and craft brew communities as the first burlesque show ever to be held in the tasting room of a brewery and represent the second monthly burlesque show in central Virginia.
Those Freaking Weirdos is comprised of four performers: Moxie LaBouche (“one hot mess”), Dante the Inferno (“the right tool for the job”), Melody Magpie (“princess of the burly-cute”), and their emcee, Dev L. Ish (“properly improper”). They perform in the neo-burlesque style, which involves more gimmicks and comedy than the satin gloves and feather boas of the classic burlesque style. Each Brews & Burlesque show will also showcase a promising new performer. Music and lighting will be provided by local DJ, Jesse James Felice.
The tasting room at Strangeways Brewing, which opened in June and features half a dozen varieties, will be extending its hours for the show. Normal hours are Wednesday through Friday, 4-9pm, Saturday 2-9pm and Sunday 12-5pm. Food trucks, such as Tarrant's Cafe and Boka Tako, are often on hand. Strangeways Brewing beers are carried by nearly 100 local restaurants in the metro Richmond area. Strangeways Brewing is located at 2277A Dabney Rd, Richmond, VA 23230.
Dates for the next three Brews & Burlesque shows will be Friday December 13, January 10 and February 14. All shows begin at 9pm. Tickets are available online through www.tfwburlesque.com and www.strangewaysbrewing.com and are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Cash and credit/debit cards will be accepted at the door. Patrons must be 21 or older.
