Trinity To Rename MerLe Saison “You Never Call Me By My Name” After Trademark Clash With North Coast

Colorado Springs' Trinity Brewing Co. recently was drawn into one such dispute, when an attorney for California's North Coast Brewing notified owner Jason Yester of the brewery's intent to sue.

Yester declined to comment on the situation on the advice of his attorney, but he posted on Facebook that North Coast plans to sue over use of the word "merle" in his "Merle, Saison Nocturnum" beer.

It seems North Coast makes a beer called "Le Merle" and claims copyright infringement. A representative of the brewery did not return a call seeking comment.

The new name for his merle saison: "You Never Even Call Me By My Name."
