From ABQ Journal:

The former general manager of Abbey Brewing Co., the beer producer associated with the Benadictine Monastery of Christ in the Desert north of Abiquiu, has filed suit seeking $266,537 that he says he’s owed for work as an independent contractor from July 2009 through July of this year.

Berkeley T. Merchant’s lawsuit in state District Court also says that Abbey Brewing – which at a micro-brewery at the monastery makes brews sold as Monks’ Ale and Monks Wit – has advised him in writing “that it intends to close” the beer brewing business.
