I’ve had lots of questions about what would be coming up next in the Troegs Splinter series…and now we have the answer. This is Splinter Brown and according to the label it will be bottled in August 2013, so after some bottle conditioning, we should see it soon. As always this beer will be barrel-aged and packaged in 750ml bottles. This is likely to be the release of the Continuing Saga of Scratch # 34 so stay tuned. This beer began as a Belgian Dubbel refused to ferment in the bottle, so it was aged in wine barrels and ultimately blended with another beer with sour character to become what I suspect will be called Splinter Brown.
