We brought you news of this new brew from our pal Spike Buckowski at Terrapin, and now the official press release from Terrapin:
Athens, GA- August 29, 2013
/mbb/ - Legendary IPA brewer and world-traveler Krunkles lives on with the release of Terrapin Beer Co.'s Side Project Vol. 20: Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA.
In the fourth chapter of his odyssey, Krunkles has returned from his journey through the Orient and chosen to lay down the katana and take up the Erlenmeyer flask. His newest mission is to get experimental; his unbounded travels have earned him an honorary doctorate ("Doctor of what?" you may ask; this would be a question to which only Krunkles knows the answer...) and he's sequestered himself in the lab perfecting a never-before-seen formula for his beloved IPA.
Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA reaches new heights in complexity and flavor by combining the malt and spices of a Belgian Witbier, the yeast of a Farmhouse Ale, and the hoppy goodness of an American IPA. Krunkles' twisted touch is a dash of white peppercorn followed by wood aging on white ash.
Malts: 2-Row Pale, Torrified Wheat, Malted Wheat, Flaked Oats, Acidulated
Hops: El Dorado, Centennial, Sorachi Ace (dry hop)
Other: Coriander, Bitter Orange Peel, Sweet Orange Peel, White Peppercorn, Aged on White Ash
ABV: 7.3%
IBU: 70
OG: 15.4
Dr. Krunkles White Farmhouse IPA will be available beginning in early September throughout Terrapin's 10-state distribution network packaged in 22 oz. bottles and 1/6 BBL kegs.
