A pair of new family-operated developments — one involving a microbrewery, the other a barbecue prep house and carry-out — are expected to brighten up a dark stretch of Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township in 2014.

Warren-based Kuhnhenn Brewing Company plans to convert and expand the closed Evergreen Home & Garden Center into a state-of-the-art bottling facility and tasting room.
