LOVELAND, CO – Aug. 21, 2013/mbb/ – Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is expanding its Oktoberfest. Now a larger community festival, the Loveland Oktoberfest is slated for Sept. 20 – 21, 2013 at Foote Lagoon Amphitheater and Park and will feature live music, entertainment, food and beer. A portion of the proceeds from this festival will benefit local nonprofits Colorado Youth Outdoors and Team Stabos (Save Them All BIG or Small).
The festival will be held Fri. Sept. 20 from 3 – 9 p.m. and Sat. Sept. 21 from noon. – 9 p.m. and includes activities for all ages. Bands will play every hour and other activities including dancing, beer games and children’s amusements will be available. Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, Loveland Aleworks, Verboten Brewing, Big Beaver Brewing Company and Rock Bottom Brewery are local participating craft brewers and Loveland-based distributor American Eagle is providing additional craft brews from Great Divide, Breckenridge Brewery, Odell Brewing Company and Epic Brewing. In addition, a wide assortment of Austrian and German food vendors and artisans will be on-hand with delicious food and unique items for sale.
“With the area’s craft beer presence growing over the years, we have been looking to expand our Loveland Oktoberfest for community members and visitors,” said Russell Fruits, beer evangelist with Grimm Brothers Brewhouse. “We are excited to expand this event with the help of E.L. Events and celebrate German heritage with our fellow brewers, vendors and most of all, our community.”
For the past three years, Grimm Brothers Brewhouse, focusing on German-styled Lagers and Ales, hosted its own Oktoberfest in the brewery’s parking lot. The brewery wants to make an impact on its community and expanding the 2013 festival will increase opportunities for attendees and help further secure Loveland as a beer destination.
