We brought you news of this beer, now it looks like we have some details and finally a release date from Deschutes:
If you've ever had a chance to chat with a brewer, then you've heard stories of "beer batches gone wrong." Some beer just can't be saved turning it into a drain pour (sniffle). These days, brewing is all about experimentation, taking a batch gone wrong and adding this and that to turn it into a specialty beer that is truly unique. Here at Deschutes Brewery, we're always on the lookout for a chance to create something new. We don't leave well-enough alone. That's why, more than 2 years ago, our brewers decided to fill up some French oak barrels with a beer gone astray and infect it with Brettanomyces, and then wait for the transformation. Around the brewhouse it was know as "Green Monster," and the name stuck. At the end of this experimentation story, you will find a monstrously fantastic, sour beer, with slight cherry and dried fruit aroma. In fact, the only scary thing about this beer is that it is SO LIMITED! Find this beer locally at our Bend and Portland Pubs and in some select bottle shops near you.
