From Arcadia Ales:
JAW-JACKER PUMPKIN SPICED ALE
It’s time to celebrate the arrival of Autumn. The Arcadia seasonal favorite; Jaw Jacker is being released at the brewery Monday, August 16th! This spiced amber-wheat ale is brewed using the finest malted barley and little wheat for mouthfeel. Jaw-Jacker displays a brilliant orange-amber color, despite the absence of pumpkin in the recipe. The addition of cinnamon, all-spice and nutmeg (in the exact proportions of a family pumpkin pie recipe) creates a refreshingly spicy, season brew. 6% ABV, 26 IBUs.
The wait is over. Shipwreck Porter will be released on September 19th – otherwise known as “International Talk Like a Pirate Day.” Waxed bottles of Shipwreck will be available at the brewery to drink and to take home. We’re also celebrating with a beer dinner fit for a buccaneer! A brewery tour will start at 6 PM and the dinner will follow at 6:30! Please call and make your reservations today! Please stay tuned to our Facebook for menu details. Executive Chef Sean Kelly is still in the creative stages of determining the menu, but it is sure to be “ARRRRGGG-mazing!” Shipwreck Porter (12 % ABV, 50 IBUs) is a Baltic-style porter with a robust malt character and a slight herbal hop bitterness. Aged for 12 months in 10-year-old Kentucky bourbon oak barrels, this alluring dark liquid features appealing undertones of vanilla, oak, cocoa and coffee. The aging occurs in abandoned mines in Michigan, at a constant temperature of 45F.
CANNONBALL GOLD
Cannonball Gold (6.2% ABV, 65 IBUs) is a golden IPA brewed with three different grains: barley, rye and wheat, and wet-hopped with locally harvested hops from Pittsfield Hops near Ann Arbor. We are picking the hops on Sunday 8/25 and brewing with the fresh hops shortly after. The fusion of wet hops, the hop percolator and the fermenter creates a delicious session beer of moderate strength showcasing the aromatic taste attributes of fresh hops. Available on draught only. Look for it in September.
