I’m excited to see our pal Chris Bowen from Hammersmith Ales hosting a great event at the Bethlehem Blueberry Festival on 7/19. Details from the Morning Call:
"Pints from the Past," running 5:30-8 p.m. July 19 at Burnside Plantation, features renowned historian and brewer Chris Bowen leading a tasting extravaganza.
Brew tastings include 1790s-era Brown Porter made with special brown malt hand-roasted for color and authentic taste; 1822 Mulhermaltz Kolsch, a malty and crispy beverage which served as an "everyday" drinking beer for brewer Johann Goundie; and 1836 Allsopp's East India Pale Ale, packed with traditional English and American hopes and a good example of early home-market pale ale.
