From Upstate Brewing:
Upstate Brewing Co
has reached an agreement with a downstate distributor that will soon make the Elmira company’s beers available from the Catskills through New York City.
Upstate owners Mark Neumann and Ken Mortensen signed the deal with Oak Beverages Inc. of Blauvelt in Rockland County, the brewery’s third distributor. Oak Beverages is a leading metro New York-area wholesale beer, wine, spirits and beverage distributor.
Oak Beverages will distribute Upstate’s two flagship beers to bars, restaurants and other outlets in the five boroughs of New York City and the counties of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester. Distribution will begin this summer.
The flagship beers are Common Sense, a Kentucky common ale, and IPW, an India pale wheat ale. Upstate also produces seasonal beers and is planning to release its summer brew by early July.
Neumann and Mortensen opened the craft brewery in July 2012 at 3028 Lake Road in Elmira. Upstate’s beers are distributed to more than 30 locations throughout the Southern Tier and Central New York by John G. Ryan Inc. of Pine City and Rocco J. Testani Inc. of Binghamton.
