LAKE ORION, Mich. -- Backwoods Mustard Company of Davison, MI will be teaming up with 51 North Brewing Company of Lake Orion, MI to celebrate the Backwoods Mustard Company launch while also sponsoring a charity event at 51 North Brewery and community food drive that will benefit Gleaners Community Food Bank.
“We are proud to be a Made in Michigan company. Michigan is not only our home but it’s also part of our brand identity.” stated David Saterstad, Vice President of Backwoods Mustard Company. “This event not only celebrates Made in Michigan companies, but it’s also a chance to give back to the community that supports both of our companies and enables us to be here,” says Brian Ernst, President of Backwoods Mustard Company.
51 North Brewery opened its doors in January and has received rave reviews for their world class beer and innovative, upscale pub food. Adam Beratta, Beer Czar at 51 North, garnered three medals at the first competition he entered, the World Expo of Brewing. Each weekend, packed houses enjoy the great products and top notch entertainment offered at 51 North Brewery.
“We have a very loyal and diehard customer base and it’s growing fast,” says Brian Ernst. Backwoods Mustard Company creates specialty mustard catering to the outdoor enthusiast and has already experienced rapid growth prior to their official June 15 launch. Aside from their strong online sales, their successful Sweet Jalapeno mustard is served in local restaurants and carried in retail stores such as Bueche’s Food World, Almont Country Smoke House, and Jerome Country Market. “We sold over 7 cases in less than 3 hours at our first event at Bueche’s Food World. Much more than expected,” explains David Saterstad. Backwoods Mustard Company has projected they could be in as many as 50 stores by the end of summer.
The public launch party for Backwoods Mustard Company is on Saturday June 15, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm. The first 50 attendees to the event will receive a gift bag and have various opportunities to win prizes during the event. On the day of the event, 51 North Brewery will donate 5% of total beer sales to Gleaners Community Food Bank and from 4pm – 7pm they will raise their donation amount to 10%. From June 3 to 15, Backwoods Mustard Company will also donate 10% of all online retail sales to Gleaners Community Food Bank and food drive collection boxes will be located inside 51 North Brewing and at Backwoods Mustard retailer Bueche’s Food World, in Ortonville, MI, for collection of non-perishable food donations.
