From the Dayton Business Journal:
Miami Erie Brewing Co-Op is a group of beer enthusiasts in the Middletown area who hope to establish a microbrewery downtown to help revitalize the area and provide a fun, local place to get your beer fix.
The organization is early on in the process, having met this week to define its by-laws, said Doug Hayes, one of the leaders of the project.
“Our next big step is to start raising capital through membership,” he said. “We want our by-laws and business plan to be set before taking on members
Hayes said the group has gotten help from the Fifth Street Brewpub Co-op in Dayton with advice on by-laws, costs and how to recruit members.
The group needs to raise between $250,000 and $300,000, Hayes said. Their target membership number will probably be between 1,000 and 1,500, but it depends on how much money the group can raise through outside investors.
