From Redhook:

SEATTLE – May 3, 2013/mbb/ Redhook Brewery announced today that it is accepting song submissions from bands to compete for a spot onstage opening for this year’s SausageFest headliner. Past year performances included indie rockers Cold War Kids and new wave legends Devo.

Bands can submit an informational profile and link to one of their songs to music@redhook.com. Submissions will be accepted until May 13, 2013. Eight bands will be selected from the pool and will be announced via the Redhook Facebook page no later than June 1.

The starting eight bands will then face off, bracket-style, as the pre-movie entertainment for the Redhook Moonlight Cinema series to be held every Thursday from July 11 – August 29. Moviegoers will choose the winning band at the end of each competition with winning bands returning the following week to defend their title. Bands are encouraged to pack the crowd with their fans at each Moonlight Cinema to increase their chances of winning.

The band that emerges victorious after the final Redhook Moonlight Cinema will then perform as the opening act at Redhook’s SausageFest.

Qualifications for entry:

● All bands must be 5 members or fewer

● All genres welcome to enter, no cover bands allowed – all music must be original

● All ages are able to submit to the contest

● Moonlight Cinema series sets will be 20 minutes for each band
