VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(May 15, 2013/mbb/) -
Howe Sound Brewing Co. won two golds, silver and a bronze in the Canadian Brewing Awards on May 11, 2013.
Howe Sound Brewing Company, from Squamish, BC, won across four broad styles of beer-lager, ale, stout and German wheat, at the Canadian Brewing Awards, held in Victoria, BC. The Canadian Brewing Awards are Canada's premiere beer competition, judging beers from across Canada in 38 style categories. This year, 120 Canadian breweries from coast to coast competed with BC breweries taking home 35 awards.
Howe Sound won awards for the following beers: King Heffy -Imperial Hefeweizen (Gold), Diamond Head Oatmeal Stout (Gold), Devil's Elbow IPA (Silver), Howe Sound Lager (Bronze)
Howe Sound Brewery Manager, Paul Wilson, Head Brewer Franco Corno and Brewer Logan Moore attended the awards ceremony in Victoria. "The CBA is becoming extremely competitive with more breweries entering and competing. BC breweries continue to perform well and it was incredible to see our beers win in a cross section of diverse styles and categories. We are certainly very proud that our beers performed so well in a national blind-tasting competition. It is great to be a part of the exciting times of the growing craft beer industry and see the acceptance of craft beers." Corno said.
Our gold medal winning King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen is set to be released in BC and Ontario Government liquor stores at the end of May 2013.
Howe Sound Brewing is a family-owned craft brewery located in Squamish, BC., brewing 26 different artisan ales and distributing a full-range of lagers and ales in Canada specifically Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland and the United States specifically Washington.
