We brought you a peek at this can, but now Puerto Rican community leaders are calling the can’s use of the Puerto Rico flag offensive.  Details from the NY Daily News:

Puerto Rican community leaders and politicians will rally Thursday at a Coors distribution center in the South Bronx to protest a new beer can plastered with the Puerto Rican flag.

The Colorado-based company released the commemorative flag-draped “cerveza oficial” cans to promote its sponsorship of this year's June 9 National Puerto Rican Day Parade.

“It is an absolute insult to all Puerto Ricans to have our flag, our national colors, plastered on a beer can,” said Vincent Torres, a community organizer with Boricuas For a Positive Image.

The protest will be outside the Port Morris headquarters of Manhattan Beer Distributors Bronx.

“We want the company, and the parade organizers, to know that we won't stand for this,” Torres said.
