Heavy Seas To Hit 45K Barrels in 2013 With 85K Capacity After Expansion

From the Baltimore Business Journal:

Heavy Seas brewed about 35,000 barrels of beer in 2012. This year, the Halethorpe craft brewery is shooting to reach 45,000 barrels. And by the end of next year, the brewery will have the capacity to produce 85,000 barrels once it installs new equipment.

Kelly Zimmerman, Heavy Seas’ marketing director, said the facility is continuously adding fermenters. More new equipment is arriving in May, and Heavy Seas will continue to add new equipment throughout the year.

Currently, the brewery uses a 50-barrel system, but Zimmerman said the company is looking to switch to a 100-barrel system that will speed up production and save time.
