El Segundo Brewing Signs Distribution Agreement With California Craft Distributors

The El Segundo-based brewery, dedicated to quality ingredients and embodying amazing hop aroma and flavor, is finally available in Northern California as part of craft beer distributor’s growing portfolio.

El Segundo, CA – Northern California beer lovers have something to look forward to. Beginning in April, keep an eye out for the Blue House logo because El Segundo Brewing Co. is now part of California Craft Distributor’s portfolio of exceptional products. Prepare to experience hops in a way that will make you fall in love with West Coast style beers (again).

Most people primarily think “bitter” when they hear that a beer is “hoppy”, but that is not the case here. Although hop-forward and with a good bite of bitterness, these beers display the full range of aromas and flavors that can be extracted through dry hopping. The result is well balanced beer that will certainly satisfy hop-heads, but is also approachable to those that sometimes find a traditional West Coast IPA a little too bitter.

Rob Croxall and Thomas Kelley are the brains behind the operation. A former baseball pitcher turned aerospace finance manager, Rob developed a passion for home brewing as he was becoming tired of the keyboard and fluorescent lights. The home brewing equipment quickly outgrew the Blue House kitchen (Rob’s home kitchen), and was sent to live in the garage for a few years by his wife. Tom has always had a love for good food and wine, and found himself pulled in that direction after school. One of his jobs, which happened to be down the street from Monk’s Café, exposed his pallet to craft beer and Tom was hooked. To make a long story short, these two ended up meeting, chatting over beer, and decided to start a brewery.

The Blue House on the logo is not just based on Rob’s original brewing site; it also represents small town America, small businesses, and a connection with real people. Basically, your traditional “Main Street”. How appropriate, then, that the brewery finally came into being in a small space on Main St. in downtown El Segundo. Here they brew with an unyielding focus on quality, a great family atmosphere, and delicate balance between work and play. The combination seems to be working!

Current offerings include the Citra Pale Ale, which is a double dry-hopped monster that is in your face with Citra, yet so restrained that even those who think they don’t like hops will fall in love. Brewed six times each year, the Two 5 Left Double IPA is named for the LAX runway that sends planes over the brewery and will certainly take your taste buds for a trip! And if you are just a little hopped out, the Standard Crude American Imperial Stout is as black as the oil at the nearby refinery, and only brewed in December.
