From Terrapin Beer:
Terrapin Beer Co. will once again toast to another year this upcoming April! Back in 2002, co-founders Brian "Spike" Buckowski and John Cochran poured the first of many beers at the Classic City Brew Fest. That beer was Rye Pale Ale. Eleven years later, the company has flourished: a brand-new 100 BBL brewhouse is up and running, there are 24 different beers on the brew schedule, and we've gone from just Spike, John, and a few close friends that first year to 35 full time and 42 part time employees. It's been a wild ride, so why not celebrate with a carnival?
Festivities will include casks, infused beers, a tent dedicated to limited-release brews, carnival food and games, live music, Mr. Blank's Carnivale of Black Hearts, and the ever-popular dunk tank... filled with beer! All the regular favorite brews will also be on tap right along with some now-rare brews that were stashed away over the past year. Terrapin is pulling out all the stops for this anniversary celebration!
The Terrapin Anniversary Carnival will take place at the brewery on Saturday, April 13 from 4:30- 8:30 pm. Special commemorative glassware will be available (while supplies last) for $20, with a portion of sales donated directly to Community Connection, a local lifeline of support to the Athens community. Terrapin is encouraging carpooling and reminds folks to bring blankets and chairs for hanging out in the yard during the festivities.
As this event sold out in previous years, pre-sale glass vouchers will again be available. The vouchers will guarantee entry, reserve a limited edition event glass, and offer a fast-track, voucher-holder-only, entrance to the carnival. The pre-sold glass vouchers will be available at the brewery and online gift shops beginning March 5th. As an added bonus, the first 1,000 pre-sale vouchers sold will include a free digital subscription to Beer Connoisseur Magazine! Mark your calendars; you don't want miss this grand event!
