From Great Raft:

March 7, 2013, SHREVEPORT, LA – Great Raft Brewing is pleased to announce the hiring of chief brewer Harvey Kenney. Kenney comes to Great Raft from Thunder Road Brewing Company outside Melbourne, Australia, where he served as chief brewer.

Co-founder Andrew Nations said, “We are thrilled to add Harvey to our team. His background in biochemistry and brewing science as a University of California Davis graduate is a perfect fit for Great Raft. The styles we plan to brew have zero room for flaws. Harvey’s persistent approach to high-quality, balanced, and innovative beers will enable us to brew exactly the beers we want.”

Adds Kenney, “I am looking forward to sharing Andrew and Lindsay’s vision of crafting quality beers for Louisiana, and I am excited to be part of one of the up-and-coming craft beer scenes in the South.”

A long time brewer, Kenney brings a blend of chemistry and artistry to his brewing. Kenney has held brewing roles in California, Turkey, Mexico, and most recently in Australia as a part of Thunder Road since its inception in 2009.

Co-founder Lindsay Nations is looking forward to bringing Kenney’s brewing expertise to the team, commenting, “Harvey has built several breweries from the ground up, creating highly technical and delicious beers along the way. We’re excited to work with him to formulate recipes and create remarkable beers.”
