NEWPORT, OR, February 19, 2013/mbb/ - Michael Higgins has been named President of Spirits at Rogue Ales & Spirits. In his new role, Higgins will oversee operations of Rogue Spirits distilleries in Newport and Portland, Oregon. Rogue Spirits' award winning portfolio includes Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, Dead Guy Whiskey, Hazelnut Spice Rum, Dark Rum, Spruce Gin, Pink Spruce Gin, Chipotle Spirit and Vintage Vodka.

Higgins earned his degree from the University of Oregon and has previously held positions with Nike, Sports Illustrated and Dell Computers. Most recently, he managed sales, marketing and operations as  President of Buckman Botanical Brewery in Portland, OR.
