We’ve been following along as John Laffler (formerly of Goose Island) and Dave Bleitner (formerly of Two Brothers) have formed Off Color Brewing….and now you can actually get a taste of four collaboration brews. Detail from the Chicago Tribune:
Well, it’s finally time to taste some of the beers Laffler is creating with partner Dave Bleitner, formerly of Two Brothers Brewing, in the form of Off Color Brewing. On March 10 and 11, Off Color will take over Black Rock bar in Roscoe Village with a pop-up bar it is calling Mischief.
Tickets, which cost $40, go on sale on Friday at noon through Brown Paper Tickets. There will be two sessions on Sunday, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight, and one on Monday, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Drinks are included with the price of ticket.
Laffler and Bleitner have said they'll avoid making traditional beer styles, and the menu at Black Rock -- sorry, Mischief -- sounds as if they will be hewing to that promise.
Laffler said he and Bleitner brewed four collaborations for the event -- two with Metropolitan Brewing (a pink rice bohemian pilsner with a “subdued floral/tropical fruit element underneath the more traditional noble character” and a smoked bock), and one each with Haymarket and Three Floyds.
