Point Pleasant Beach, NJ (PRWEB) February 17, 2013/mbb/

After a successful fundraising effort, East Coast Beer Co. is being joined by three of its local New Jersey distributors in donating $4,068.00 to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, Inc. In recognition of the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy, the Point Pleasant Beach-based beer company launched Beach Haus® Rally for Relief, a “critical mechanism” to collect donations and assistance to help families affected by the destruction of the storm.

East Coast Beer Co., in association with its distribution partners (Kohler Distribution Co., Ritchie & Page Distribution Co., and Harrison Beverage), pledged a $1.00 donation per case of its beer sold during the months of Nov. 1, 2012 – Jan. 31, 2013, for a total of $2,712.00. Having experienced firsthand the devastation of the storm, East Coast Beer Co. ownership and management were compelled to match personally the portion of the fundraising efforts by the company.

“Both Brian and I grew up here and we love the area so much that we created roots here with East Coast Beer Co.,” said John. “Naturally this hits home for us and we really wanted to do our part to help the many families that were affected by the storm. We are excited and inspired by the response from the fans of Beach Haus® and their eagerness to get involved.”

Although the reasons behind the Rally for Relief are unfortunate, the tradition of donating to local charities is an already well-established one for the three-year-old company. The personal impact of the storm’s aftermath further motivated the management team to start the fundraiser and get its distributors involved.

“Our New Jersey distributors also played a great role in Rally for Relief,” added Brian. “Without them, we would only be donating two-thirds of the final amount. These same distributors are making efforts in other ways but they felt compelled to join us in a total New Jersey effort to make a difference.

The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief fund, founded Nov. 2, 2012 and chaired by First Lady Mary Pat Christie, is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding New Jersey. To date, the fund has raised over $32 million from more than 22,900 donors worldwide.
