We brought you details on the legal battles going on between the founders of 5 Rabbit Cerveceria….and now this from Crains:
The co-founders of 5 Rabbit Cerveceria Inc. have split after months of bitter legal battles stemming from two defamation suits and a perceived power struggle.
Isaac Showaki, who co-founded the company with Andres Araya, left the company Thursday after selling his majority stake in the craft brewery.
"The only way for the company to survive was for one of us to go," said Mr. Showaki, who was 5 Rabbit's chief operating officer. "I gave Andre the opportunity to buy me out or for me to buy him out."
5 Rabbit announced today it hired Cesar Garza as commercial director in charge of sales and marketing, effective immediately. Mr. Garza, 33, now has an ownership stake in 5 Rabbit. He most recently was chief executive officer of Anodize, a Monterrey, Mexico-based metal finishing company. He also has owned bars and restaurants in Mexico.
