Straub 2013 Groundhog Brew Becomes Brewery’s First All-Malt Beer

image

Some interesting news coming out of Straub Brewery today as their Groundhog Brew becomes the St. Mary’s PA brewery’s FIRST all-malt brew.  The 2012 version of this beer was a repackaged Straub Special Dark, and the 2011 and earlier releases of this beer were actually repackaged Straub Light and all of the above used flaked corn.  For 2013 Straub Groundhog Brew will be an all-malt German-style Altbier that will come in at 5/3% ABV.

For those asking already, this beer is hitting shelves now and look for a 2013 spring 6.9% ABV Maibock coming from Straub that will also be all-malt.
