From Icelantic:
Six months ago Icelantic partnered up with Oskar Blues Brewery and since then have recognized a match made in Heaven. Both Icelantic Skis and Oskar Blues are local Colorado companies that pride themselves on hand crafted products of the highest quality. This November the Icey crew headed over to Lyons Colorado to visit the original Oskar Blues Brewery and begin the creation of a custom holiday beer collaboration. After a six week waiting process we headed back to put this stuff in a can and proudly apply our custom labels before we ship it out to our retailers for Christmas. We love this beer and we love our retailers, we love all of you out there reading this, thanks for all the support HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
These Beer’s will be available at Old Chicago‘s very soon!!!
A true Colorado Collaboration: Drink Oskar Blues Brews in the “I Love Beer Tour” at all Colorado Old Chicago locations and earn a chance to win a pair of Colorado born, custom Icelantic Nomad Skis. Fuh-CAN-eh!
Kicking off today, January 16th, the Colorado Old Chicago “I Love Beer” Mini Tour will feature three Oskar Blues beers including two specialty beers brewed specifically for the tour. The tour features the original slope-side beer, Dale’s Pale Ale, CHAKA Belgian Style Ale, a beer that debuted exclusively at the Craft Beer Conference in spring of 2012 in the new Alumi-tek can package, the first in the craft beer world, and IceyPA a wheat IPA brewed in celebration of Colorado winter and Oskar Blues’ partnership with Denver’s Icelantic Skis (check out the video of Icelantic brewing up trouble at Oskar Blues!). See below for a complete list of Old Chicago locations that will be hosting the specialty brews and ski giveaways.
This is the third collaboration between us & Old Chicago. In 2011, Old Chicago was the place for the exclusive launch of Deviant Dale’s IPA during the same “I Love Beer Tour”. As some of you may know, Deviant Dale’s won a Silver Medal in the 2011 Great American Beer Festival’s American India Pale Category, the most competitive category in that competition’s history with 176 entries.
In addition, we formed a true Colorado-inspired partnership, (a COllaboration, if you will!), with Icelantic Skis, that includes tons of fun events including First Friday party’s at Icelantic HQ’s in Denver, Ski Industry Association (SIA) celebrations in late January, Winter on the Rocks with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in February, Custom Oskar Blues Skis, our IceyPA Beer, and the Oskar Blues Brewski Bus, featuring a fun-filled day of OB brews, demoing Icelantic skis for free, and a bus ride to some of Colorado’s world-class slopes, plus a featured trip with the Infamous String Dusters. Try saying all of that 1 time fast…
Stay tuned in to Oskar Blues Brewery’s Facebook page for additional details.
Fun fact: Our big guy, Dale Katechis, the heart & soul owner of Oskar Blues, gained experience within the Old Chicago group of restaurants & was the General Manager at the Longmont Old Chicago location, just down the street from Oskar Blues’ Home Made Liquids & Solids.
Bonus Fun Fact: Dave Chichura, our head brewer, has four years of history with Rock Bottom Brewery, a sister concept to Old Chicago.
You could say we’re keepin’ it in the fam!
