The latest news from our pal Jamie Bartholomaus at Foothills:
S
trong, bold, and undeniably sexy, the one and only Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout is coming back the first weekend in February.
By far our most famous offering, this Valentine's Day seasonal only comes out once a year. Infused with organic cocoa nibs and running 9.5% ABV, this Russian imperial stout is a deep opaque black in color, offering notes of espresso, blackstrap molasses, toffee, and dark fruits. The Sexual Chocolate and its barrel-aged cousin have received medals at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup, and have been featured in magazines ranging from DRAFT and All About Beer to Maxim and even (so we heard) Hustler.
The bottles are 22 oz. and $15 each, and will go on sale at 10am on February 2. As with past bottle releases, we do recommend being very early to wait in line-- there is a limit of four bottles per person, but supplies are still limited, and we cannot guarantee or reserve bottles for anyone. If you need a better idea what to expect, here's some footage from the 2012 release that aired on WXII and CNN last February.
In order to meet an ever-increasing demand for our beer, we are pleased to announce that we are now going into partnership with a network of wholesale beer distributors. When complete, this transition will make finding our beer easier and more convenient for you than ever before. Look for our beer at all your favorite bars, package stores and even grocery stores throughout North Carolina and beyond.
Speaking of distribution, we just released some Jade IPA kegs into the market for the first time last month, marking the beginning of the Foothills Small Batch Series. These beers will be produced exclusively at the pub; they will be available on draft, and some will also be released in limited quantities of 22oz bottles.
What small batch will we release next?
