From Surly:
Smoke is back. We are releasing our oak-aged smoked Baltic porter this week. Smoke is a black lager with smokey-black malt flavors and notes of plum, figs and licorice. Head brewer Todd Haug explains the traditional lager-brewing process and talks about what goes into brewing our end-of-year seasonal beer in our latest Inside The Brewery video.
Smoke 2012 will first be available at a release party on Monday, Dec. 10 at Zen Box Izakaya on 602 Washington Avenue in Minneapolis. Cynic, Furious and Bender will be on tap starting at 5pm and 12oz. pours of Smoke will begin at 6pm. Zen Box will also have a special, limited menu featuring items inspired by and to be paired with Smoke. The menu also includes a Double Smoked Pork Tsukune which is made with Smoke.
Smoke starts rolling into select bars and liquor stores on Tuesday, December 11. If you find a bottle or a tap, make sure to tell the rest of Surly Nation on Twitter with the #surlysmoke hashtag or spread the word on our Facebook page.
