From Butcherknife Brewing:

Steamboat Springs, December 5, 2012: Butcherknife Brewing Company, LLC held a groundbreaking ceremony today at the site of their new facility on Elk River Road, west of downtown Steamboat Springs. The new facility will provide space for production of thousands of barrels of beer annually, as well as a tasting room for guests to enjoy beer from Steamboat’s first production brewing facility.

The company’s owners, Nate Johansing and Mark Fitzgerald, were joined by local supporters, representatives of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and friends to celebrate the beginning of construction of the state-of-the art facility.

“We are incredibly excited to mark the beginning of construction of our new facility. Colorado is the best place in the world to produce beer, but until now there has been something missing from the state’s offerings. Steamboat represents the best of what Colorado has to offer in nearly every regard. We look forward to building a business and delivering products that make our city proud,” Fitzgerald noted. Butcherknife plans to brew several styles of beer year-round in Steamboat Springs for distribution on draft and in cans.

Company management plans production of over 1,000 barrels of beer in the first year of operations and anticipates rapid growth in the years beyond, with plans and capital in place for quick expansion. The business will hire several employees in its first year with employment opportunities growing as production and sales increase.
