Looks like our pal John Mattson is rolling out a new Woodchuck Private Reserve series beer. We sampled the Pumpkin on our show, and we brought you the news of this cider being packaged last week, and now the official press release from Woodchuck:
(Middlebury, VT) – Woodchuck Hard Cider is happy to announce that Private Reserve Barrel Select Cider is back on store shelves. This limited batch cider arrives just in time for the holiday season. Barrel Select was aged for six months in oak bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill Distilleries in Kentucky.
A true connoisseur’s cider, Woodchuck Barrel Select displays a copper hue and carries a 6.9% ABV. It features the delicate balance of a sweet and crisp apple base, with dry smoky bourbon notes throughout. It’s a cider expertly crafted to help battle the bite of winter’s impending chill.

Barrel Select, which is ideally served at 50 degrees, also stands to enhance any upcoming holiday meal. It pairs well with pork roast, a variety of cheeses, and chocolate cake to name just a few. As with all of Woodchuck’s cider styles, it is naturally gluten free.
Woodchuck’s commitment to innovate the finest ciders in the world is on full display with this rare cider. Woodchuck first set the bar for barrel aged ciders in June of 2011 and is thrilled to be bringing Barrel Select back.
Suggested retail is $10.99 for a six pack. Barrel Select is already shipping across the country. The Woodchuck Cider Locator is a great resource for finding all of our ciders across the country.
