Wicked Weed Brewing Set To Open 12/21

imageWe’ve been following along as Walt & Luke Dickson have worked to get things going at Asheville, NC’s Wicked Weed Brewing.  While Dec 21st may be the last day on the Mayan calendar, Dec 21st is the first day Wicked Weed will open it’s doors.  Details from the Citizen Times:

According to the Mayan calendar, Dec. 21 may be the end of the world. It may also be opening night for Asheville’s new Wicked Weed brewery and restaurant at 91 Biltmore Ave.

The brewery is good to go. Walt Dickinson, his brother Luke and brewer Eric Leypoldt have put together a very impressive 15-barrel system. Test brewing began last week, and by opening day, they hope to have 14 beers on tap. As we’ve said before, they’ll be specializing in hoppy West Coast style brews and Belgian ales.
