Hops & Grain Brewery To Can “The One They Call Zoe” in 2012

imageFrom Hops & Grain Brewery:

From Oct. 7th 2011 through Oct. 7th 2012 we brewed right at 1,000 bbls of beer between our3 bbl Greenhouse and our 15 bbl brewhouse.  Between those 2 systems we brewed a total of 27 different styles of beer.  Some of the Greenhouse batches were sold around town but most of it was poured for free in our tap room.  Here’s a list of the styles that we brewed in our first 12 months.  Pale Dog, ALTeration, Cascadian Dark Ale, Brown Porter, Vienna, Hoppy Amber, 5 different IPA’s, BPA, Kolsch, BRAh, Ruta Maya Dark, 2 differnet Common Denominators, Barleywine, 2 batches of The One They Call Zoe, Belgian Stout, IBL, Women.Design.Brew, 2 batches of Hop Dog, Hefe, Enlargement Pilz, 2 batches of Baltic Porter, O-Fest, 3 batches of Half Nelson, A Dark IPA, Del Roble, BitterrrRED, Grapefruit IPA.  Yeah.  Sweet.

We also released 9 different beers in our Volumes of Oak Series.  Each of these beers were aged in oak barrels ranging from French Oak Cabernet to American Oak Bourbon, some with cherries, some with peaches and multiple barrels that are still aging with wild yeast and souring bacteria.  All in all, we’ve had quite a bit of fun and this next year should prove to have us grinning even more at the variety and creativity that our Greenhouse affords us.  We started out in October of 2011 selling our beer draft-only with our first keg of beer being sold to theDraughthouse on October 23rd during Austin Craft Beer Week.  In February, 4 months after we opened, we began canning our two year-round beers, Pale Dog and ALTeration and with any luck we’ll have our 3rd canned beer, The One They Call Zoe, available by the end of the year.
